Vocational Service Month

Welcome to the Global Kalinga e-Rotary Club for the week of Sunday, January 15 through Saturday, January 21, 2017. We are an Internet based Rotary Club based in Quezon City, Philippines with core groups of members in Southern California and elsewhere. We serve our local and nearby communities as well as projects in the Philippines.

Inspiration

"Vocational education programs have made a real difference in the lives of countless young people nationwide; they build self-confidence and leadership skills by allowing students to utilize their unique gifts and talents." ~ Conrad Burns. U.S. Senator from Montana and later a lobbyist

Rotary 4-Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do: 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”

By building your team's self-esteem and encouraging them, the entire team becomes stronger.

Sing-Along Song—ROTARY

Take your time and sing-along (wherever you may be).

Fine Master

Traditionally, Rotary clubs have Fine Masters who are responsible for collecting fines/happy dollars. The clipart to your left is our e-club Fine Master. Do you have happy dollars, a birthday, an anniversary, a promotion, opening a new business, new car, new child, new grandchild, etc. Please feel free (and perhaps obligated) to click on our Rotary Fine Master button to your right.

The minimum fine is $3.00 to ensure a sufficient amount to take care of the PayPal fee. The purpose of the fines can be viewed by clicking on [View Fines/Happy Dollars] from the [Weekly Meetings] main menu

Program—January is Vocational Service Month

This video was part of the program for Rotary E-Club of the Greater San Fernando Valley. This is a rather short video, only about 10 minutes. There were other vocational service videos within the more appropriate 20 to 30 minute span; however, they were not well presented.

In lieu of the short video time, this will be a great opportunity to make some comments and/or offer some suggestions of what we can do for a vocational service project on our Facebook GKeRC-Members group. Time spent on our web site and Facebook group can be applied to the 30 minute per week qualification for attendance.

Club Business

Attendance: We were "dark" for two weeks; however, we had began our weekly meetings last Sunday. ONLY FIVE MEMBERS have attended our meeting so far. It is essential for ALL members to attend our weekly meetings and participate in our Facebook discussions. If you don't participate, then why are you a member? You have an entire week to take only 30 minutes to participate in our club--THAT'S ALL. Also remember, if you do not attend and submit an attendance report, you will be charged $5.00 per every missed meeting.

Meeting with our DGE on Jan 21: We have the opportunity to meet our District Governor Elect Chito Borromeo and Gov Elect Boboy Valles at 12:00pm January 21st at the lobby of Manchester Grand Hyatt. The address is: 1 Market Place., San Diego, CA Since we not able to reach the 12 delegation count we will be driving separate cars and will just meet at the lobby of the hotel
