We held our monthly meeting on Valentine's Day at MALARKEY'S Grill & ONE HELL OF A PUB in Long Beach. Members in attendance included Chuck Cota, Ernie Delfin, Frank and Celly Adamo, Art Azarcon, Ali Famisaran and Belle Olson. We were all quite satsfied with fine food and coffee. President Chuck and the first lady, Linda Bell, brought scruptuous and tasty chocolate covered strawberries for our attendees.

Ali and Pam prepared and brought blank Valentine's cards for us to complete with a valentine note and signed from our Rotary club. Ali and Pam planned to take the written Valentine notes to the 60 children at the Orangewood Childrens Foundation center. Thank you for your kind service to the children of Orangewood.

We opened the meeting with an invocation from our first lady, Linda Bell and the Pledge by Frank Adamo. We then discussed the need to hold a "live" online weekly meeting to abide by RI's stipulations for an e-club. After some discussion to clarfy the purpose these meetings, Frank made a motion to recommend two days and times, Wednesday mornings at 7:00 am and Saturday mornings at 8:00 am and requesting that we ask the members their preferred day and time to determine a concesus of the members. After further discussion, Art requested an amendment to the motion and we simply set up the weekly meeting for Wednesday morning at 7:00 am. We did not have a quorum; however, we took a preliminary vote for the motion. Details of the motion will be placed on our Facebook Board Group for further discussion and voting.

Chuck then proposed a new project for the orphanage, Casa Hogar de la Gracia, in Santa Fe, Baja California. The proposal was to contribute towels and swimming suits for the nearly 30 children at orphanage. Ernie made a motion to contribute $300 for the project; however, after some discussion, the motion was amended to contribute $500 to the project. The details of the motion and discussion will be placed on our Facebook Board Group for discussion and a vote.

Before adjourning, Ali and Pam held a drawing for a bottle of champagne which Art won, and Chuck and Linda Bell had a drawing for a pink Valentine's shirt. Fortunately Celly won the drawing for the shirt. I'm not sure how Frank would have felt wearing pink :).
