District 5320 Training Assembly

As Ernie posted on our GKeRC-Members Facebook Group, five members of our Club, namely: President Chuck, Club Services Director Frank Adamo, Co-Community Services Director Belle Olson, our newest member Ali Famisaran and Past President ad Founder Ernie Delfin, about 25% of our membership, took their precious time, from about 7:30 AM to noon, to attend a very good Rotary District 5320 Training Assembly this past Saturday, March 21.

Prior to the workshops, we attended a general assembly with keynote speaker, Boaz Rauschwerer, who is from Newport Beach. He discussed how to make a potential member and new members to feel important. He recommends five questions to ask.

1. I'm just curious about...

2. Where are you from originally? (two followup questions) a. Have you lived here all your life? -- if s/he is local b. What brought you here? -- if s/he is not local

3. Do you have a family?

4. What do you do? (Most people will ask that question first. Do so after the first 3 questions)

5. What did you want to be when you were growing up?

Remember, people want to feel important.

Afterwards, we broke out into 3 hours of workshops. During the 2nd hour, Chuck, Ernie, Ali, and Frank attended the "Satellite and E-Clubs session. Here is the workshop, split in two parts. Please turn the volume on high or use headphones. The volume did not convert all that well. Also, the 50 minute workshop is split into two parts.
