Rotary is a secular organization open to all persons regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, or political preference. Though, as individuals, many, especially in our club, will celebrate in the true meaning of Easter, as Rotarians our partcipation in Easter activities are limited to secular activities such as Easter egg hunts. In fact, most Rotary activities at Easter are Easter egg hunts. Here is a sampling of Rotary activities at Easter.

Easter With Youth Exchange Student Pierre Arvois in France!
What a special pleasure to travel by high speed rail at 220 miles an hour from Paris to Reims, France to visit the family of Rotary Youth Exchange Student Pierre Arvois, who was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Palm Beach during the 2010-2011 Rotary year.
As former youth counselor to Pierre and President of the club, I had had the pleasure of meeting his family, his mother, Christine, his father, Christophe and his brother, Batiste last year when they visited the United States and we had a wonderful lunch in Paris during my visit there in 2011, but this visit to their home was something very special. Christine prepared an amazing lunch upon my arrival with a beef casserole from Lorraine, followed by a salid and cheese, followed by a strawberry dessert - all served with a deliciiously matched wine. I cannot express what a pleasure it was to join Pierre's family for this special lunch, including close family friends, Sikirou and Valérie and Chistophe's mother. The following day, we visited the Cathedral of Reims in the morning followed by an Easter lunch at wonderful country restaurant, Le Jardin, in the villiage of Neufchatel Sur Aisne.
Whether it's Group Study Exchange, Peace Scholarships or Youth Exchange, the Rotary Foundation and the Rotarians of District 6930 and around the world are dedicated to bringing people from different cultures together - and in this instance I must say that the hospitality of the Arvois family was so warm and so wonderful that I truely felt like a member of their family! Thank you Christine, Christophe, Pierre and Batiste! And thank you to the Rotary Youth Exchange Program and the Rotarians around the world who make it possible.
Easter egg madness
Another East Egg Hunt, this time in our own backyard in Southern California. Hillcrest Park, Fullerton, CA. The South Fullerton Rotary Club's annual Easter egg hunt. This 90 seconds is followed by a few minutes of families gathered in small groups dotting the hillside, breaking open all the eggs looking for tickets for bigger baskets & prizes.
