Welcome to the Global Kalinga e-Rotary Club for the week of Sunday, Jul 12 through Saturday 18, 2015. We are an Internet based Rotary Club based in Quezon City, Philippines with core groups of members in Southern California and elsewhere. We serve our local and nearby communities as well as projects in the Philippines.

Inspiration

"The more generous we are, the more joyous we become. The more cooperative we are, the more valuable we become. The more enthusiastic we are, the more productive we become. The more serving we are, the more prosperous we become." ~ William Arthur Ward

There has been a discussion on LinkedIn discussing the value of a 5th Test, "Is it Fun," yet the 4-Way Test begins with "In ALL things we say, think, and do...." Regretfully, there are times having fun is not appropriate. For example, when Rotarians have died when helping eradicate polio, when you see children crippled by polio or deaf due to bad drinking water, etc. Certainly, we have fun in Rotary when we serve others and the more we serve, the happier and more productive we are.

Rotary 4-Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do: 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”

By building your team's self-esteem and encouraging them, the entire team becomes stronger.

Sing-Along Song -Smile

Take your time and sing-along with the Rotary Club of Fayetteville, a singing club (wherever you may be).

Program

The Rotary Foundation is the economic engine for Rotary International. It is a non-profit corporation that is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of The Rotary Foundation who share its vision of a better world. Its sole mission is t o support the efforts of Rotary International in the fulfillment of the Object of Rotary, Rotary’s mission, and the achievement of world understanding and peace through local, national and international humanitarian, educational, and cultural programs.

In this session, produced by District 5320, we explore how contributions made to The Rotary Foundation are returned to Rotary Districts for local grants and are used to support global grants through the World Fund.

Club Business

We had our 4th Annual Installation and Fundraising Dinner on June 11. Due to the lateness, we were unable to include the dinner in our Weekly Meeting for this week. The program for next week will be our installation dinner. In the meantime, if you have any photos, please post them on our Global Kalinga e-Rotary Facebook group.

Please check our calendar for upcoming events, including our upcoming monthly meeting. The location will be posted early this week.

Also, consider being part of our weekly program by creating a video introducing yourself to our members and guests. For example, tell us where you came from, why you joined Rotary, what you do (craft talk), and what you want to do.

Lastly, BE SURE TO SUBMIT YOUR ATTENDANCE RECORD. We will begin tracking the weekly attendance to submit to RI. It's very simple to do. If you have any problems, please contact our club director, Frank S. Adamo.
