Welcome to the Global Kalinga e-Rotary Club for the week of Sunday, August 29 through Saturday September 5, 2015. We are an Internet based Rotary Club based in Quezon City, Philippines with core groups of members in Southern California and elsewhere. We serve our local and nearby communities as well as projects in the Philippines.

Inspiration

As we approach Vocational Service Month, here is an invocation for vocation: "I am blessed to have a job I love. I am blessed to have good friends. I am blessed with the ability to make a difference through my job and my friends in Rotary, as we take on the challenge to change our community and our world. Let us be thankful."

Be sure however that many do not have jobs--including members of Rotary. Pray for them and their families.

Rotary 4-Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do: 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”

By building your team's self-esteem and encouraging them, the entire team becomes stronger.

Take your time and sing-along (wherever you may be).

Program

As we leave Rotary's Membership and Retension Month, we have one last video on membership titled "Rotary Membership in the 21st Century."

In the following video, Michael McQueen shares his thoughts with a group of District Governors (likely at the District Governors Training earlier this year in San Diego) on how the organization of Rotary can help remain relevant. Be ready to write down a few short phrases such is, "What is our DNA?" and "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."

Club Business

We have two active proposals. One was proposed by Lino to provide an afterschool vocational program for 3rd or 4th year students of Valencia High School of the Yorba Linda –Placentia. The event will take place November of late October. The 2nd proposal was initiated in the Philippines by Ernie Delfin and Ronnie Gamalinda. to approve a Sister Club Agreement with the Rotary Club of Urdaneta. The revised agreement and discussion is available on the GKeRC-Members
