Welcome to the Global Kalinga e-Rotary Club for the week of Sunday, November 1, through Saturday November 7, 2015. We are an Internet based Rotary Club based in Quezon City, Philippines with core groups of members in Southern California and elsewhere. We serve our local and nearby communities as well as projects in the Philippines.
Inspiration
"Sometimes we may ask God for success, and He gives us physical and mental stamina. We might plead for prosperity, and we receive enlarged perspective and increased patience, or we petition for growth and are blessed with the gift of grace. He may bestow upon us conviction and confidence as we strive to achieve worthy goals." ~ David A. Bednar
Rotary 4-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do: 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”
By building your team's self-esteem and encouraging them, the entire team becomes stronger.
Sing-Along Song - Leron, Leron My Love
Take your time and sing-along (wherever you may be). The song is in Tagalog and for those who do not know Tagalog, here is the English translation.
Leron, Leron my love
Young papaya fruit above
Carrying bamboo basket
To keep the fruits in it
Then as he neared the end
The entire branch broke up
What an unlucky day
Better find another one.
Wake up Neneng
We will go climb a tamarind
Carry the bamboo box
And fill it with ripe fruits
At the end of the branch
It started on swaying
Hold on tight Neneng
You might fall off the tree
Leron, Leron my love A guy that I would love
Young papaya fruit above Is a courageous man
Carrying bamboo basket Who has seven knives
To keep the fruits in it And daggers which is nine
Then as he neared the end A journey he will take
The entire branch broke up Distant parts beyond
What an unlucky day One plate of noodles that is
Better find another one. The foe he will engage!
Program
After four years of working behind a desk, the Filipina started to get that uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach, the kind you get when you know you're not supposed to be where you are. She wondered, "Is this what I'm going to do for the rest of my life?" On her journey to answer one of life's biggest questions, she comes across a red ball, and from then on her life was never the same. Predisposed with a set of cultural, religious and societal expectations, having the 'balls' to challenge these expectations has been Dianna David's triumph over the past decade. Being inspired by the art of play opened up the doors to seeing infinite possibilities of a life she has always desired to live. As a Transformational Entertainer, Motivational Speaker, facilitator for empowerment workshops, kid whisper, humanitarian, freestyle dancer, and human being, she travels the world inspiring people of all ages to live a life of passion and purpose.
