Understanding Millennials

Welcome to the Global Kalinga e-Rotary Club for the week of Sunday, May 8 through Saturday May 14, 2016. We are an Internet based Rotary Club based in Quezon City, Philippines with core groups of members in Southern California and elsewhere. We serve our local and nearby communities as well as projects in the Philippines.

Inspiration

"Leadership is not about the next election, it's about the next generation." ~ Simon Sinek“ Before we can lead millennials, we need to understand them, and perhaps they need to understand us. Together Rotary, as well as, society can prosper.

Rotary 4-Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do: 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”

By building your team's self-esteem and encouraging them, the entire team becomes stronger.

Sing-Along Song—Gotta Love Millennials

Take your time and sing-along (wherever you may be).

Fine Master

Traditionally, Rotary clubs have Fine Masters who are responsible for collecting fines/happy dollars. The clipart to your left is our e-club Fine Master. Do you have happy dollars, a birthday, an anniversary, a promotion, opening a new business, new car, new child, new grandchild, etc. Please feel free (and perhaps obligated) to click on our Rotary FineMaster button to your right.

The minimum fine is $3.00 to ensure a sufficient amount to take care of the PayPal fee. The purpose of the fines can be viewed by clicking on [View Fines/Happy Dollars] from the [Weekly Meetings] main menu

Program—Millennials - The Laziest Generation?

Before we can ask millennials to consider becoming Rotarians, perhaps we first need to understand where they are coming from.

Millennials - aka Generation Y - are often stereotyped as lazy, narcissistic and overly consumed by technology and social media. Yet this generation is also saddled with staggering student loan debt, escalating education costs and a discouraging job market. Our panel tackles the truth and falsehoods behind the stereotypes and discusses how this generation will confront the imposing challenges we face in the 21st century. This video will help to clarify their issues. Some ideas we may not agree with, others we will; yet, we will begin to understand their concerns.

Club Business

Our Monthly Meeting is scheduled for next Sunday, May 15 from 2 to 5 pm. Location TBD.
