Welcome to the Global Kalinga e-Rotary Club for the week of Sunday, December 4 through Saturday, December 10, 2016. We are an Internet based Rotary Club based in Quezon City, Philippines with core groups of members in Southern California and elsewhere. We serve our local and nearby communities as well as projects in the Philippines.
Inspiration
When others had said, "This is your last chance ... to change this school into a boys' school, because the backbone of Afghanistan is our boys." Jan responded. "Excuse me. The women are the eyesight of Afghanistan, and unfortunately you all are blind. And I really want to give you some sight.”
Rotary 4-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do: 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”
By building your team's self-esteem and encouraging them, the entire team becomes stronger.
Sing-Along Song—
Take your time and sing-along (wherever you may be).
Fine Master
Traditionally, Rotary clubs have Fine Masters who are responsible for collecting fines/happy dollars. The clipart to your left is our e-club Fine Master. Do you have happy dollars, a birthday, an anniversary, a promotion, opening a new business, new car, new child, new grandchild, etc. Please feel free (and perhaps obligated) to click on our Rotary Fine Master button to your right.
The minimum fine is $3.00 to ensure a sufficient amount to take care of the PayPal fee. The purpose of the fines can be viewed by clicking on [View Fines/Happy Dollars] from the [Weekly Meetings] main menu
Program—"What Tomorrow Brings " Update
Back on January 10, our Weekly Meeting was about Beth Murphy, a documentary filmmaker, journalist, and founder of Principle Pictures who addressed the Rotary International convention in São Paulo, Brazil. Her presentation was about an afghan, Razia Jan and "What Tomorrow Brings." You may click on this Weekly Meeting link to review the whole meeting or click on the above video to view only the presentation. However, today's Weekly Meeting program (video below) pertains about an update to this video, published just this past month. Beth Murphy and Razia Jan on "What Tomorrow Brings" Behind The Velvet Rope with Arthur Kade.
FYI, Beth Murphy founded Principle Pictures in 1999 to do what she loves doing most: meeting inspiring people, telling great stories, and using media as a catalyst for good. She enjoys connecting with audiences and connecting audiences in meaningful ways with our world. Beth has led production crews to all corners of the world, often in war-torn or developing countries in order to focus on human rights and international issues.
