Welcome to the Global Kalinga e-Rotary Club for the week of Sunday, February 5 through Saturday, February 11, 2017. We are an Internet based Rotary Club based in Quezon City, Philippines with core groups of members in Southern California and elsewhere. We serve our local and nearby communities as well as projects in the Philippines.
Inspiration
"If there's no inner peace, people can't give it to you. The husband can't give it to you. Your children can't give it to you. You have to give it to you." ~ Linda Evans
"To attain inner peace you must actually give your life, not just your possessions. When you at last give your life - bringing into alignment your beliefs and the way you live then, and only then, can you begin to find inner peace." ~ Peace Pilgrim
Rotary 4-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do: 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”
By building your team's self-esteem and encouraging them, the entire team becomes stronger.
Sing-Along Song—Rotary Hymn by George Canseco
This is a new Rotary song. Take your time and sing-along (wherever you may be).
Fine Master
Traditionally, Rotary clubs have Fine Masters who are responsible for collecting fines/happy dollars. The clipart to your left is our e-club Fine Master. Do you have happy dollars, a birthday, an anniversary, a promotion, opening a new business, new car, new child, new grandchild, etc. Please feel free (and perhaps obligated) to click on our Rotary Fine Master button to your right.
The minimum fine is $3.00 to ensure a sufficient amount to take care of the PayPal fee. The purpose of the fines can be viewed by clicking on [View Fines/Happy Dollars] from the [Weekly Meetings] main menu
Program—Making Peace On Your Inner Battlefield: Anne Gottlieb at TEDxYouth@SanDiego 2013
This month is Rotary's Peace and Conflict Prevention / Resolution Month.
We may all desire world peace. One of Rotary International's tenets is working for peace in this world.
However, world peace, in the opinion of this writer, will never be achieved—unless we can find peace within ourselves.
How can we even attempt to work towards world peace if we have not achieved our own inner peace. Yet, how can we find inner peace when we are struggling with our tribulations? Our own club is coping with the recent quick death of our friend, Dr. Fleix Lapuz. Some of our own members are struggling with health and financial issues. Even if we don't have major issues, we continue to have day-to-day issues such as the need to deal with traffic accidents, barely losing that parking space so close to the front of the store, another headache, dealing with that cranky boss or employee, etc. "HOW CAN I BE AT PEACE WITH MYSELF?" you may shout out to yourself with your day-to-day nuances, let alone, major tribulations in your life such as health, finances and even death.
View the video above to find one solution. And after you submitted your attendance, consider committing on our Facebook group. Perhaps you have another solution.
